Orla Kiely Pre-Spring 2013

It's no lie that I love Orla Kiely. Her Fall/Winter 2012 line has been one of my favorite from any designer in a long while. The little foxes and beautiful patterns are just to die for! Luckily that line is all up to 50% off at the moment so check that out!
But she has just outdone herself for the pre-spring 2013 line!

Nobody does beautiful collars and adorable vintage patterns like Orla Kiely!

20th Birthday Wishlist

-Audrey Hepburn

These thieves among us

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas/holiday! I know I did.
I know it's been far too long since I've posted and I'm so sorry about that.

Yesterday, was my boyfriend's brother's birthday. He turned 17.  So his mom, sister, JC and I took a trip to the mall to do a little shopping with our Christmas money and gift cards. We had lots of money left over but still got a ton of stuff! We then took him out to a few parks here and there near home for his birthday to do one of his favorite things; Geocaching. We went to one, where we parked in the parking lot by a busy road and went searching! We were only back in the woods for about 20 minutes when we found our first Geocach of the day. We were all excited and came back to the car to go to our next place. When we got back to the car, we noticed a few items were laying on the ground by the car. We opened up the car and saw that, yes, someone had stolen everything out of our car. We had been robbed! JC's mom, sister and my purses were all stolen (full of money, gift cards, license, debit cards, my new perfume and school ID, plus plenty more). We also had all of our shopping bags stolen and everything in them. Not to mention all of Justin's (JC's brother) birthday presents. We called 911 and they came but couldn't do anything about it at that point. We left with tears in our eyes, broken hearts and empty hands.

Goes to show that you have to be very careful out there.
I hope nobody else experienced anything else like this during this, what should be, peaceful time.
Hopefully, my next post will be a happier one.

Faux or fun?

It's no secret that I love animals. I'm a vegetarian and a pretty big animal rights activist. One of the animals I love most, are deer. I think they are one of the worlds most beautiful animals. That being said, I grew up in the south, so deer are more "targets" than anything here (which I 100% do not believe in). Every house in my family have at least 3 or 4 deer heads hanging on the walls (all of which they shot, killed and had stuffed themselves). My question is: could having a deer head hanging on the wall always be a total bad thing? I always see deer heads on beautiful mounts at antique stores. Meaning, most likely, someone killed it more than 50 years ago. Does that make it right, or would it be more humain to stick to beautiful fake animal heads?

Now for a less controversial take on the mounted deer head:

Let me know what you think.

Target + Neiman Marcus

Like most people, I was so excited when I heard about the Neiman Marcus collaboration with Target. Making beautiful things at a price that's more bearable is just every girls dream. But when the release happened and as I watched as the pieces came to life all over the internet, Instagram and Twitpics, I just kept waiting for it.. That "ahh" moment, and I just never got it.. I just wasn't satisfied. There is maybe 2 things that I would even consider buying. I could just be crazy, but all of the collaborations and things of that sort for the past couple of years has just been.. Disappointing.

Agree? Or disagree? Let me know!

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

Every year, my small town puts on this cute little "lighting of the town Christmas tree" and everyone comes out to watch. All of the small shops and boutiques get involved and it's all very adorable and magical. My boyfriend and I visited all of the antique shops, bookstores and we even went to Teacups & Cupcakes, a small tea shop and got drinks and treats. Vanilla red tea, hot coco cupcakes and hot chocolates were all musts.

It really put me in the mood for the upcoming holiday and made me excited for moments and memories to come.

Those Who Wonder Are Not Always Lost

Some of my boyfriend's work.
You can check out more of his film and digital photography here.

Mountain Man

Can't stop listening to this album.
The coolest thing, is that it was all recorded in an old ice cream parlor.

Have a listen.

Post-fall Depression

Fall is my absolute favorite season. I do love winter; but as the carved pumpkins are rotting and everyone's putting up their Christmas trees, I'm dealing with being in the middle of my favorite season and my second favorite season. Right now, in Atlanta, my car has frost on it in the mornings then by the middle of the day I could wear a short sleeve shirt and have my air on, on my way home. It's ridiculous. All in all, I'm going to keep my head up and welcome the new season with open arms (and new hair).

Hope you're all enjoying these last 2 days of November.
Bring on the rush of the holidays (oh, and panel week)

Finding the perfect couch

Some of you may know that I'm moving to the city in the next month or so. The apartment I'm moving into is only around 600 sq feet. So finding the perfect couch to fit in the small space provided that I love and also can afford has become almost impossible! My boyfriend and I are on a very tight budget and I've realized how picky I have turned out to actually be.

That being said, here are some of my beautiful Pintrest sofa finds.
